A Thankful Centerpiece

Inspiration is all around us. I am thankful for the wonderful people in my life that continue to inspire me. This project is inspired by two people, my sister-in-law and a good friend. My sister-in-law created a great fall centerpiece she saw on Pinterest using corn and beans. My friend had a great idea to write what she is thankful for about her four-year-old son to help reward positive behavior. I took both of these ideas and combined them into our thankful centerpiece. Every night as a family we are discussing what we are thankful for and writing it on a leaf. By the time Thanksgiving comes, we should have a beautiful full centerpiece for the table.

Thanksgiving Crafts for Kids
Thanksgiving Centerpiece
Materials:
Vase
Filling for the Vase (We used corn, dried peas, kidney beans, and navy beans)
Twigs
Paper Leaves (We found ours at the Dollar Store)
Empty Paper Towel Roll
Marker
Step 1: Fill Vase
Place paper towel roll inside the vase. You may need to trim the roll to fit your vase. Fill around the paper towel roll with corn and dried beans.  To keep the beans from filling inside the paper towel roll place a plastic lid over it (see picture below).  Repeat layers until close to the top of the vase.thankfulcollage
Step 2: Place the twigs in the center of the paper towel roll. Continue to fill one more layer of beans on top this will help keep your twigs in place at the center of the vase.
Step 3: Add leaves. The leaves we found at the dollar store had a wire stem that made it easy to attach to the twigs. I used a silver permanent marker to write what we are thankful for on the individual leaves.
