Creative drawing ideas for kids are quick, simple and easy ways to encourage creative thinking in your child.
Drawing prompts allow your child to create their own solution to prompt which helps develop their problem solving skills.
My favorite part about drawing prompts is that they require little prep work for you (the busy parent) and you do not need fancy art supplies or materials. A simple pencil and paper is all that is needed.
To make it even easier, I have designed a free printable of the creative prompt so you can simply print and draw. Download the pdf file, print it off and let your child create!
CREATIVE DRAWING IDEA:
Design a back pack that can transform into something else.
Stretch your child’s knowledge and problem solving skills by asking your child open-ended questions as your child is drawing.
Use the questions below to help facilitate your child’s creative thinking and have a discussion about your child’s drawing.
By taking a few minutes to ask questions you are showing that you value your child’s creativity and connecting with them in a meaningful way.
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR CHILD:
What happens after your backpack transforms into…?
If you were going on a trip with your backpack what would you add to the design?
Where do you take your backpack?
What does the texture of your backpack feel like?
What color is your backpack?
What happens if you left your backpack overnight at school?
