DIY Kid Made Wrapping Paper

Keep your kids busy and save money of wrapping paper! Here is an easy diy version to make your own wrapping paper.

Materials:

Tissue Paper

Paint (We used a washable tempera paint)

Paint Rollers

Rubber band or Twist Tie

Painter’s Tape

Drop Cloth (We used a garbage bag)

Tutorial:

Step 1: Prep your work space by laying out a drop cloth (We used a garbage bag but also an old shower curtain or plastic table cloth work great). We set up our work space on the floor so we would have lots of room to work. Using the painter’s tape, tape the tissue paper to your work surface.

Step 2: We found two patterned rollers at the Dollar store but we also created our own. To create your DIY paint roller, take a roller and wind a rubber band or twist tie around it to create a pattern.

Step 3:  Squirt a line of paint on the tissue paper and roll (we found it worked best when squirting the paint directly on the tissue paper)! Experiment with different rollers and colors. Hang tissue paper to dry.
