A shape is an enclosed space or flat area that has clear boundaries.
Did you know there are two different types of shapes?
Geometric shapes are the shapes with learned about in math class like a circle, square or rectangle.
Free-form or Organic shapes have uneven curves like shapes we see in nature like a cloud or leaf shape.
Doodle Shape Challenge
Materials:
- Worksheet #1
- Pen, Marker, Pencil (your choice in drawing tools)
Print out the worksheet and challenge yourself (or child) to transform the given shape into something else. Use a variety of lines or other shapes to turn the shape into a doodle. Get creative!
If you are working with a child, let them think of their ideas first before you share your ideas.
Use the blank set of squares on Worksheet #2 to draw your own set of shapes and then challenge your child to change them into doodles.
