Father’s Day Creative Drawing Idea for Kids

Celebrate Father’s Day with a creative drawing prompt inspired by the picture book, All The Little Father’s. An easy to make gift for Dad, that not only comes from the heart but also encourages creative thinking.

All The Little Father’s is written by Margaret Wise Brown (who also wrote Goodnight Moon) and illustrated by Marilyn Faucher.

It is a simple yet cute animal book about father’s and what they do with their little ones.  The illustrations were our favorite part of the book as the vibrant lines and colors help bring the animals to life.

We had fun not only reading the book but also discussing what the animals enjoyed doing with their animal Dads.

The book inspired our own creative drawing prompt: “My favorite thing to do with Dad is…”

Lil B (6 years old): I like to play pretend with Dad. I am drawing us on a pirate ship as we pretend to battle the pirates”

M-Woww (4 years old): I like to go get donuts with Dad.

Click here to download your copy of  “My favorite thing to do with Dad is…” printable and have your child create their own visual story about their favorite moments with dad (it’s free).

Encourage your child’s creative thinking with open-ended questions. Allow them to create their own favorite memory to share with Dad!
