Last year we did a feature on Fat Wallet featuring 6 ways to dress up your clear glass (or plastic) ornaments. This post was very popular so we are back with 6 new ways to dress up your ornaments with a homemade touch.
1. Pom-Pom Ornament
We used leftover pom-poms to fill the glass ornament. We originally bought these pom poms at the dollar store. I love the bright colors to add some pop to the Christmas tree.
2. Sparkly Pipe Cleaner Ornament
We found the glittery pipe cleaners at the dollar store. Simply push the pipe cleaners through the top of the ornament. Keep filling until your are satisfied with the look. We used three pipe cleaners in the photo below.
3. Birthday Tissue Paper Taped Ornament
Using recycled tissue paper, fill the inside of the ornament. Use a chopstick to help push the tissue paper into place inside the ornament. We found the decorative tape at the dollar store. Simply wrap around the ornament and cut.
4. Ticket Stub
This is a great way to preserve a favorite memory from the year. Simply wrap up the ticket stub so it will slide through the top of your ornament. Use a chopstick to move the ticket stub around until it is standing up straight. Place cotton balls behind the ticket stub to help it stay in place.
5. Yarn Wrapped Ornament
Using multicolored yarn, string the yarn through the opening your ornament and fill.
6. Beaded Necklace Ornament
Beads aren’t just for Mardi Gras anymore. It seems like these days no matter what the occasion, at any parade people are handing out beads. Here is a way to recycle them into a Christmas ornament. Simply string the beads through the hole and secure the top. Be careful to not make the ornament to heavy with too many beaded necklaces.
