High contrast patterns play a significant role in the development of an infant’s eyesight. This is why many baby toys come in black-and-white patterns. The stark contrast between black and white helps the baby’s eyes to focus and strengthen their visual abilities.
If you want to create your own high-contrast toy for your baby, all you need is a piece of paper and a black marker. Simply fold the paper into thirds and create a black-and-white pattern on each side. It doesn’t have to be a masterpiece, just a simple pattern of lines or shapes will do.
Your baby won’t judge your artistic ability, but will instead enjoy the contrast of black and white. So why not give it a try? It’s an easy and inexpensive way to help your baby’s visual development.
When giving your baby tummy time prop the pattern in front of your baby like a tent. M-Woww is a little old for this activity as she was more interested in trying to grab the tent and put it in her mouth (She is 5 months) but you get the idea!
