After School Art with Hand Made Kids Art is a weekly video series that focuses on fun and easy art projects for kids. With basic art supplies you can create your own works of art! Each video demonstrates the techniques step by step but each project is designed to help encourage creative thinking. Your child is the artist let them imagine, create and be inspired! Materials:
Ruler
Pencil
Marker
White Paper
Tutorial:
Step 1: Using a ruler draw 5-7 vertical or diagonal lines.
Step 2: Draw 3 shapes.
Step 3: Look at how the lines and shapes divide the paper into different shapes or sections. Select one color marker and color in every other section like a checkerboard. To add a pop of color, select a second color and go back in color in all the white shapes. Watch our video tutorial for a full demonstration.
ART VOCABULARY:
Vertical Line – a line that goes straight up and down
Diagonal Line– a line that slants or tilts
Shape – an enclosed space, limited to two dimensions (length and width)
