As an elementary art teacher I loved using liquid watercolors. There were many different watercolor techinques and ways you could use them. The colors were vibrant and easy for the children to keep clean and lasted longer than the traditional watercolor palattes. I have been wanting to use liquid watercolors at home with my two little artists but I did not want to run out to the art store to purchase some. We experimented with a diy watercolor recipe (click here for our diy recipe). While the colors were not as vibrant as the store bought (I think this could be fixed by adding more dye) they still turned out pretty well. My own kids had fun experimenting with the colors and techinques.Paint:
Pour your liquid watercolors into a container (we used small bowls) and paint as normal.
Spray:
Pour your liquid watercolors into a spray pump. You can usually find these cheap at the travel beauty section of your local retailer/pharmacy. For younger artists I recommend a spray bottle as they may have trouble with the pump.
Drop:
Wet the paper first with a damp sponge. Use an eye dropper to drop paint on the paper. My two artists enjoyed watching the paint run across the page and spread.
