Tape Resist Race Track Painting

Take your race car painting to the next level with this easy tape resist race track!  View the video below to check it out or read the tutorial below.

Materials:

  • Toy Race Cars
  • Washable Paint
  • White Paper
  • Painters Tape
  • Tray or Cookie Sheet
  • Black Marker

Step 1: Let your child tear pieces of painters tape and lay the tape on the paper to create their race track design.

Step 2: Paint!

Step 3: Once the paint is completely dry, carefully peel off the painters tape. Adult assistance may be needed.

Step 4: With a permanent marker add your road marks or other race track details.

Remember to keep the project open-ended and let your child design their own race track. Maybe your child wants to make a map of the neighborhood or use the roads as something else…that is okay!

Encourage your child’s creativity by asking questions and prompting their creative thinking.
