Step 1: Paint Paper Plate
My favorite non messy way to paint with young artists is to use bingo daubers. You can find them at the dollar store or craft store. We used this kind. Regular orange paint and a brush or finger paint will also work. Let paint dry.
Step 2: Accessorize Pumpkin
I already had precut the stem and leaf. I let my young artist decide where to place the shapes and we taped them down from the backside.

Step 1: Trace Paper Plate onto Orange Paper
Tip: Turn the paper plate upside down on your construction paper.
Step 2: Cut Orange Circle and add details.
We added the lines to enhance the curved shape of the pumpkins. Have your artist look at a real pumpkin to understand the curved shape of the lines.
Step 3: Cut Leaf shape from Green Paper
Leafs come in all different shapes and sizes. Let your artist have some fun.
Step 4: Cut stem from brown paper
We stuck with a simple rectangle shape for the stem.
Step 5: Glue together
Glue your stem and leaf first to the front of the paper plate and then cover with your orange pumpkin.
