Patriotic Paper Plate Wind Spinner

Create a super easy patriotic wind spinner with a paper plate! Easy enough for kids of all age to help create.  Design several for your next patriotic celebration!

Materials:

White Paper Plate

Blue Tempera Paint

Red Tempera Paint

Painter’s Tape

Scissors

String

Tutorial:

Step 1: Paint one side of the paper plate blue and let dry.

Step 2: On the opposite side of the paper plate, use painter’s tape to layout stripes.

Step 3: Add red paint and cover the plate. Let the paint dry completely.

Step 4: Carefully peel off the tape to reveal your white stripes!

Step 5: Starting from the outer edge of the plate cut a spiral line towards the center. Add string to hang.

Watch your patriotic craft twirl in the wind creating a blue, white and red design as it turns.

***Since the spinner is made from a paper plate I do not recommend leaving the spinner outside for an extended period of time but it works great for an afternoon bbq or patriotic party.
