Create a special card for Mom or show your appreciation to your favorite teacher.
Bring a photo to life by adding a three-dimensional flower.
Pirate hat is totally optional…sometimes you have to give in when you want your 3 year old to be your model for you.
You can break this project into 2 parts by first creating the flower and then creating the card….or do it all at once (especially if you wait to the last minute like I typically do).
An easy project using materials you most likely already have in the house.
Materials:
For the Card:
Construction Paper
Model
Printer
Photo paper
Razor blade (FOR ADULT USE)
Glue
For the flower:
Green Pipe cleaner
White Cupcake liner
Paint (optional – Markers or Crayons would work too)
Tutorial
Step 1: Take a digital photo of your model holding his/her hand out in a fist (pirate hat optional).
Step 2: Print a copy of your photo (We used a 4 x 6 size).
Step 3: Create your flower. We used a green pipe cleaner for the stem and a white cupcake liner for the petals. My three year old decorated with paint before we cut the petals into a point.
Step 4: To hold the flower in the photo, cut two slits on the photo, one slit on top of your model’s fist and one below (Please note the adult should do this step). Slide the pipe cleaner stem through the slits to hold in place.
Step 5: Mount your photo to the card (we used folded card stock paper) with glue.
Step 6: Write your message to someone special.
