Snowed in and looking to keep the kids busy? Here is a quick and fun Valentine heart drawing that can keep artists of all ages engaged. The whole family can participate in this project….including you! (even if you don’t consider yourself an artist). If you are working with young artists focus on step 1 of the project and if you are working with older artists be sure to see the extension at the end of the post.
Materials:
Paper, Markers, and Crayons
Tutorial:
Step 1: Draw a squiggly line on the paper (without lifting your marker)
Step 2: Draw hearts overlapping the lines. You also can use a heart stencil to help younger artists.
Step 3: Color in each section of the hearts with different colors. Finish the background by adding color with a crayon.
Extension for older artists: Add line doodles into the extra space to create patterns in your artwork.
