Christmas art projects for kids can be fun and educational. STEAM activities are a great way to tie Art with other core subjects.
Mix in a bit of Art and Math to learn about concentric circles with this fun and bright Christmas art project. Let your child explore color and pattern with just a few basic art supplies that you most likely have on hand.
Your older child may wish to use a compass while a younger artist can trace different size circle objects like lids and small bowls to create concentric circles. Read below for our full tutorial!
Materials
Compass (or different size circles to trace)
Pencil, Paper, Markers, Black Permanent Marker
Tutorial
Step 1: Draw a large tree in the middle of the paper using a triangle and rectangle.
Step 2: Concentric circles are circles of different sizes that share the same axis or center point. Create concentric circles by using a compass or tracing different size circle shaped objects. Make sure the middle point is the same for your concentric circles.
Step 3: Fill the circles with color and pattern.
Step 4: Outline your shapes with black permanent marker. This helps “pop” the shapes and color off the page and gives your artwork a finished look.
