5 Minute Science

I think I get just as excited as the kids for our kids science activities in our Hand Made Summer Fun series. I am sure that at some point in my school years I did the baking soda and vinegar science experiment but I don’t remember doing it. When I saw this tutorial from Learn. Play Imagine , I knew we had to try color mixing with this classic science experiment. See the printmaking twist we added at the bottom of the post.

Lil B and M-Woww had a lot of fun watching the “exploding” bubbles. Although Lil B admitted the bubbles were more “fizzy” than “exploding”. We paid close attention to where the colors mixed and pointed out the new colors they created.

Since, we were already in the printmaking mode, we grabbed a couple sheets of white paper and created some colored prints off the fizz. Place your white paper on top of the bubbles. Let dry and be sure to scrap the baking soda off and you are left with some great colored paper!
