“Print and Draw” Creative Drawing Ideas for Kids
A creative drawing prompt is perfect for when you don’t have time for a full STEAM activity or investigation.
Simply download the prompt, print and create!
Print and draw prompts work best for children that have reached the symbolism or schematic drawing stage (usually around age 5 or 6).
For younger children I recommend looking at the resources together and talking about the creative prompts but use a blank sheet of paper for your child’s drawing.

Materials: Colored Pencils (or other drawing supplies), Printer, Paper
How it Works:
Step 1: Download Your Free Printables
Step 2: Read the creative prompts with your child.
Look up and research and questions your child may have about the animals. I have included some additional online resources below.
Step 3: Create and draw!
Let your child explore their creativity with the prompt. It is okay if your child’s solution seems silly or unrealistic.
The emphasis is on the process of creating rather than the final product.
